Gary L. Lauer, President and Chief Executive Officer.
Gary Lauer has served as our President and Chief Executive Officer since December 1999 and as Chairman of our Board of Directors since March 2002. Since Mr. Lauer joined the company, eHealth has become the leading online source of health insurance for individuals, families and small businesses. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Lauer was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of MetaCreations Corporation. Prior to MetaCreations, Mr. Lauer spent more than nine years at Silicon Graphics, Inc., a computing technology company, where he was a member of the senior executive team that grew Silicon Graphics from approximately $100 million to $3.5 billion in revenue. Mr. Lauer started his career with IBM, where he held a variety of sales and marketing management positions. Mr. Lauer holds a B.S. degree in finance and marketing from the University of Southern California Business School.
Bruce Telkamp, Executive Vice President of Business and Corporate Development.
Bruce Telkamp has served as Executive Vice President of Business and Corporate Development since November 2008. In this role, Mr. Telkamp leads eHealth’s teams for new business development (strategic partnerships and licensing opportunities), carrier relations, legal and regulatory compliance and corporate development (mergers and acquisitions). Prior to becoming Executive Vice President of Business and Corporate Development, Mr. Telkamp has held senior executive level positions with eHealth since May 2000, including serving as eHealth's first general counsel. Mr. Telkamp has also served as the company's Corporate Secretary since May 2000. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Telkamp was the Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel of MetaCreations Corporation. Before joining MetaCreations, Mr. Telkamp was an attorney with the leading technology law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in Palo Alto, California. Mr. Telkamp holds a J.D. degree from the University of California, Hastings and a B.A. degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. Mr. Telkamp is a member of the California Bar.
Dr. Sheldon X. Wang, Executive Vice President of Technology and Chief Technology Officer.
Dr. Sheldon Wang has served as Executive Vice President of Technology since May 2007 and as Chief Technology Officer since August 1999. In these roles, Dr. Wang oversees the engineering, product management, quality assurance, information technology and carrier technology services functions of the company. Dr. Wang also has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of eHealth China since October 2003 and oversees the company's operations in China. Prior to becoming Executive Vice President of Technology, Dr. Wang served as the company's Senior Vice President since August 1999. Prior to joining eHealth, Dr. Wang was the Senior Vice President of Research and Development at Eclipsys Corporation, a provider of integrated healthcare enterprise information-technology solutions. Before joining Eclipsys, Dr. Wang was the Executive Vice President of Research and Development and Chief Operating Officer of HealthVision (acquired by Eclipsys). Dr. Wang holds a Ph.D. in medical informatics from the University of Utah, an M.S. degree in physics from Idaho State University and a B.S. degree in physics from the Fuzhou University of China.
Stuart M. Huizinga, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
Stuart Huizinga has served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer since May 2000. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Huizinga was a partner at Arthur Andersen LLP in the firm's Audit Business Unit. Mr. Huizinga brings more than 15 years of financial experience in the technology sector, having serviced clients in Arthur Andersen's Silicon Valley office from 1984 to 2000. Mr. Huizinga served as a worldwide expert within the firm's technology practice, primarily in the software and Internet sectors. Mr. Huizinga received a B.S. degree in business administration from San Jose State University and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California.
Samuel C. Gibbs, III, Senior Vice President of Sales.
Sam Gibbs has served as a Senior Vice President since September 2000. In this role, Mr. Gibbs is responsible for the company's technology licensing business. Mr. Gibbs previously served as General Manager of the company's small business products and services business and as General Manager of product management. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Gibbs was a Vice President and General Manager for Rand Worldwide, an engineering services company. Prior to Rand, Mr. Gibbs was founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of AVCOM Systems, Inc., an engineering services and systems integration company. Mr. Gibbs has also held engineering positions at Raytheon Aircraft and TRW Space Systems. Mr. Gibbs holds a B.S. degree in aeronautical engineering technology from Arizona State University.
Robert S. Hurley, Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations.
Robert Hurley has served as Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations since May 2007. In this role, Mr. Hurley oversees the company's relationships with health insurance carrier partners. Prior to becoming Senior Vice President of Carrier Relations, Mr. Hurley served as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives since September 2003 and was responsible for our public and government relations activities. From April 1999 to September 2003, Mr. Hurley served as Vice President of Customer Care and managed the operations of the company's customer care center. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Hurley served as Associate Vice President of Sales and Operations for the consumer business segment at Health Net, Inc., a managed health care company. Mr. Hurley holds a B.A. degree in law and society from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Scott C. Sanborn, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer.
Scott C. Sanborn has served as Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer since November 2008. In this role, Mr. Sanborn oversees all major marketing and demand-generation functions, including traditional and online marketing activities, partner management, public relations, customer care center operations, business analytics and product marketing. Prior to joining eHealth, Mr. Sanborn served as chief marketing officer of RedEnvelope, Inc., an e-commerce and catalog retailer of upscale gifts, from April 2007 to June 2008. Before joining RedEnvelope, Mr. Sanborn held several senior marketing positions at Home Shopping Network, a television and internet retailer of consumer products, from December 2002 to April 2007, including as senior vice president of marketing. In addition to his role as senior vice president of marketing, Mr. Sanborn also held vice president of marketing positions at Home Shopping Network and for its online business. Prior to Home Shopping Network, Mr. Sanborn worked in marketing and advertising agencies including i-traffic/Agency.com in San Francisco and Ammirati Puris Lintas in Holland. Mr. Sanborn holds a B.A. degree in English from Tufts University.
